Argo Fuck Yourself Fuck Yourself

The title of this post may come across as negative, but its one of my favourite movie catch-phrases for a long time.

I got around to watching this last week with no real high hopes due to having Ben Afleck directing the flick, and not having any idea what it was about except “some CIA thing in Iran”. Oh and also the Afleck beard was off putting.

All this aside when I finally watched the film it was awesome and rightly deserved the three Oscars it won. The cast was spot on and was cherry picked from Kevin Smith’s film Red State (also one to watch and on Netflix). John Goodman played… well he played John Goodman like he does in every movie and was a very good cast for his role as a special effects/costume guy in the Hollywood scene.

It was very cleverly shot and kept the tension going through to the end. Aflecks performance was excellent and the beard definitely grew on me (not literally); and who can beat having ‘Breaking Bad’s’ star Bryan Cranston (my favourite actor and show at the moment – Thanks again AMC) shouting at people as a CIA agent.

Now I’ve seen an article on the Guardians website about Iran hiring a French lawer to file a lawsuit over Argo and other films that are quote “portraying the islamic republic in a distorted and unrealistic manner’. This film is based on a true story about Iran taking hostages in an American embassy. If you don’t like the film don’t take hostages and “Argo fuck yourself”.

Anyway for anyone who has no idea or has never heard of Argo check out the trailer below:

Thank you for the practical review. Me and my neighbor were just preparing to do a little research about this. We got a grab a book from our area collection but I think I learned more clear from this post.
